This large 19th-century Russian silver flute cup is an exceptional example of traditional niello craftsmanship, featuring two finely detailed oval medallions depicting architectural cityscapes. The vessel is further embellished with intricate scrolling foliate and floral niello engravings set against a stippled ground, showcasing the high level of artistry characteristic of the period. A notable design feature is the turned, flared stem, which unscrews from the body for ease of transport or storage. The interior of the cup retains traces of its original gilt wash, and the base is clearly struck with the "84" zolotnik silver standard mark, confirming its Russian Imperial origin; the piece has a total weight of 110 grams.
