This substantial antique Russian silver cigarette case features a high-relief repoussé scene on the front cover depicting a Bogatyr, a legendary Slavic warrior, engaged in battle with a bear within a forest setting. The reverse is embellished with an applied imperial-style crowned monogram and a blue cabochon thumbpiece set into the clasp. Internally, the case is finished with a brilliant gold wash and bears a hand-engraved Cyrillic dedication dated December 23, 1928. Hallmarks include the "84" zolotnik silver standard and a maker's mark "LC".
