This classical stoneware amphora dates to the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD), reflecting the cosmopolitan artistic influence of the Silk Road. The elegant baluster form features a slender neck and cup-shaped mouth, flanked by two spirited double-stranded handles modeled as dragon heads biting the rim—a design inspired by Western Asiatic metalwork. The vessel is covered in a pale, translucent straw-colored glaze that exhibits a fine network of crackle (crazing) and stops in an uneven line above the foot, revealing the buff ceramic body characteristic of period burial wares. Tang Dynasty, Mingqi, Burial Pottery, Sassanian Influence, Whiteware, Ancient Art, Asian Antiques, Dragon, 7th Century, Spirit Jar.
