A pair of fine French Limoges porcelain vases by Henri Ardant. Dated mid-19th century. The celeste blue color vases are adorned with beautiful ornate gold twin handles. Each vase is decorated with round pate-sur-pate plaque in gold frame, featuring angels and putti. Each piece is marked "HA and Co, 416" underneath. Henri Ardant (1828–1883) was a porcelain artist who worked at the Limoges Royal porcelain manufactory. As Ardant became its legal successor, he gave the manufacture his name in 1858. Having completely abandoned the production of tableware, Henri Ardant's company produced only sculpture, vases in complex techniques decorated with paintings and relief decor, and elite porcelain interior items. After Ardant's death the manufacture changed its owner and name. Keywords: Limoges Porcelain, Vases, Interior Decor, Antiques.
