Dated late 19th century. Signed "L. Gregoire" on the base. Jean-Louis Gregoire was a Parisian sculptor, student of Jean Jules Salmson. Gregoire's bronze sculptures were often classical in nature and commonly took war and music as their themes, typical of the Academic style in which he was trained.
