Podchernikoff" and dated 1912 lower left. Framed. Alexis Matthew Podchernikoff first studied art with his grandfather Dmitri Zolotarieff and later with Ilya Repin and Vasily Vereshchagin. After the Russo-Japanese War, he immigrated to the U.S. and settled in California. Podchernikoff's style and palette are often compared to those of Camille Corot.
