This striking studio art glass lamp is a signed work by the American artist Stephen Fellerman (b. 1951), dated 1990. The piece takes the form of a mushroom or "Jack-in-the-Pulpit," a signature shape for the artist, featuring a golden iridescent surface (aurene) decorated with abstract pulled feather and dragged loop motifs in deep violet and blue. The two-piece construction consists of a slender baluster base supporting a wide, domed shade, which bears the incised signature "Fellerman 90" and inventory codes near the brass fitting.
