Filipp Malyavin (Russian, 1869–1940). Graphite drawing on paper. Sketch of a group portrait, two peasant women and an old man. Signed lower right, "FM" and "Ph Maliavine". Undated. Framed. Trained in icon-painting as well as having studied under the great Russian realist painter Ilya Repin, Malyavin is unusual among the Russian artists of the time for having a peasant background.
