Pavel Kovalevsky was a Russian military artist. He studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts under Bogdan Willewalde. During the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, Kovalevsky accompanied the Russian army and collected materials for subsequent battle works.
