In the manner of Claude Galle (French, 1759–1815). Pair of matching black-patinated bronze ewers with gilded decor. Dated late 19th century. Elongated pieces with acanthus and mascaron motifs, scrolled handles set with griffin's heads. Unmarked. Claude Galle was one of the foremost bronziers and fondeur-ciseleurs of the late Louis XVI and Empire periods. He supplied noble residencies in France and Italy.
