An antique Russian Orthodox icon, Mother of God with Christ Child in the Burning bush iconography. Dated 19th century. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The central image of Virgin Mary and Jesus is enclosed in an eight-pointed star formed by two quadrangles in blue and red. Images of angels surround the composition.
