This small antique Japanese Satsuma porcelain footed bowl dates to the Meiji period and displays fine hand-painted decoration characteristic of the era. The interior features a lively figural scene depicting numerous figures dressed in traditional Japanese attire, engaged in what appears to be a gathering or procession. The figures are rendered with exceptional detail, with elaborate kimonos enhanced by gold accents and floral motifs. The interior ground is a soft creamy white, finely speckled with tiny dots that create a delicate, textured surface. A decorative band encircles the interior rim, composed of a geometric pattern in black and gold, complemented by a band of floral ornamentation. The exterior rim is richly decorated with a continuous floral band featuring large, stylized blossoms in deep red, dark green, blue, and gold, providing a vibrant contrast to the lighter interior.
